Stop thumb sucking, with AeroThumb.

TGuard has been breaking the thumb sucking habit for over 25 years.

Since 1995, dental health professionals have recommended TGuard to stop thumb sucking, more than any other product on the market. Why? Because TGuard breaks the thumb sucking habit quickly, effectively, and at a much cheaper cost than intraoral appliances.

Kids love to choose a different multi-colored lockband every day! Each kit contains 30 wristbands in various colors.

Instalocks not only simplify adjustment, but provide a peace-of-mind that the device is locked and cannot be removed.

How does TGuard work?

It's simple:
no suction = no pleasure.

From birth, children have a natural born instinct to suck in order to get nourishment. This sucking feeling, or suction, over time becomes associated with warmth and comfort, and by itself, provides pleasure.

Our thumb sucking guards do not prevent the thumb from going in the mouth, but they do prevent suction from forming, so there’s no longer any pleasure left in the habit. Without the pleasure, children have no incentive to continue. This method of thumb sucking treatment is highly effective in helping children break the habit quickly and pain-free.

Why stop thumb sucking in the first place?

Sure, it’s a cute habit..but it’s one with potentially serious consequences. Left untreated, thumb sucking can lead to:
Prolonged sucking can affect the development of the teeth and jaw. Called “malocclusion”, this condition is very serious and the dental work required to fix it can cost hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars.
Every time your child puts their thumbs in their mouth, they also introduce all of the germs they picked up since they last sucked. This causes frequent illness.
With a thumb in their mouth, children are less likely to engage with adults and peers. This effectively slows their social development.
Thumb sucking is a very convenient focus for bullies, and can be the source of serious social trauma. Worse, the stress from being bullied compels children to suck more, which creates a harmful negative self-reinforcing loop.
Thumb sucking can pose serious risks to your child’s health, but the severity of those damaging effects depend on how often and how vigorously the child sucks their thumbs. At best, the habit can isolate your child in social situations. At worst, it can cause thousands of dollars of corrective dental work down the line, and lifelong issues with self-esteem.

“. . . I had the opportunity to give this kit [T-Guard] to a 12 year old child that has sucked his thumb from birth. His habit has caused a significant change in his oral structures. His mom has tried everything including a fixed orthodontic device which he was currently wearing. He had had it for several months – his mom reports that it did not slow him down a bit. After four days with your TGuard appliance, the mom called ecstatic with glee because her son stopped his habit. . .”

“Even though my son was only 18 months old i wanted to stop his constant thumbsucking habit. i found your product through practicon dental supply. Initially i was very skeptical, but he quit sucking in about 3 weeks, the appliance was a little big for his hand but it still worked. Being a children’s dentist, i now have a relatively inexpensive resource for my patients.”

“I used your TGuard appliance on my six year old daughter. I had tried to curb her thumb sucking habit through educating her on its detrimental effects to her dentition. When she was willing to try and discontinue her habit, I tried using a fixed habit appliance. After 6 months with her fixed appliance she was still trying to suck her thumb. She was my toughest case. Then I used your TGuard thumb habit appliance. In 1 week I removed her fixed appliance. Within 3 weeks her habit completely stopped. Your appliance worked great. My daughter said it was comfortable and she found it highly effective in curbing not only her ability to suck her thumb, but also her desire to suck her thumb.”
